Dogs Connect
Our school is proudly part of the Dogs Connect program and we love our school dog, Bridie. The Dogs Connect program offers a multitude of benefits; firstly it enhances the overall wellbeing of students by providing a source of comfort and emotional support by reducing stress and anxiety. The presence of wellbeing dogs has been shown to improve student focus and concentration in the classroom as well as assisting with social interactions by fostering a sense of kindness and empathy amongst students.
Wellbeing Programs
Berry Street Education Model
Our classroom teachers and staff have completed the Berry Street Education Model (BSEM) training. The BSEM is a trauma-informed approach to education and is designed to equip educators with strategies to increase engagement with students with complex, unmet learning needs and successfully improve all student’s self-regulation, growth and academic achievement.
Wellbeing worker
Holy Rosary School has a dedicated wellbeing worker who supports the emotional and mental wellbeing of our students. The wellbeing worker is a compassionate and approachable support figure who provides a safe and nurturing space for students and their family members during difficult and challenging times. Our wellbeing worker has completed the Seasons for Growth training which is aimed at assisting young people to understand the grief that is experienced following the loss of a parent or significant other through death, separation, divorce or other circumstances.
CatholicCare Sandhurst
Holy Rosary school maintains a strong connection with CatholicCare Sandhurst which offer a range of programs and workshops for parents and carers including counselling, parenting programs, financial counselling and chaplaincy support. CatholicCare are the facilitators of the Drumbeat program for our year 6 students.

Critical Incident Training
Holy Rosary staff receive up to date critical incident training to ensure there is professional and empathetic management in the event of a critical incident within our community such as the death of a teacher or family member. Whilst this situation would be sad and sometimes unexpected, we recognise the importance of being prepared for such an event so we can ensure everyone’s comfort throughout such an incident.
